We are pleased to announce that Eteron – Institute for Research and Social Change has joined the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS) as an observer member, at the network’s annual General Assembly which was held on the 20th of June.
The Institute’s inclusion in a network that brings together organisations such as the Fondazione Gramsci, the Fabian Society, Progressive Britain, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, the Fondation Jean-Jaurès, the Fundación Salvador Allende, the Olof Palmes Internationella Center and the Center for American Progress, is a significant step towards further strengthening its domestic and international presence.
Eteron’s association with FEPS makes it possible for it to network and collaborate with leading organisations and institutions from all over Europe, through the exchange of knowledge and experiences that will reinforce its activities and impact. Eteron remains committed to producing reliable research, as well as empowering citizens and fostering partnerships that ensure that the real needs of societies and the people are reflected in an informed public debate.
During the FEPS General Assembly, pivotal discussions took place aiming to evaluate the results of the recent European elections and to define FEPS’ strategy for the next Annual Framework Programme. Eteron joining the FEPS network as an observer member gives the Institute the opportunity to actively contribute to these discussions and to put to good use its research findings and analyses in order to co-shape policies that will have an impact on Europe’s future.
On the occasion of the acceptance of the Institute’s application, Eteron’s Director, Christos Papagiannis, stressed that “in an era of new, multidimensional and often borderless challenges for our societies, which progressive forces around the world seek to decode so they can suggest appropriate solutions, it is extremely important that institutions studying those challenges and facilitating public dialogue cooperate on an international level. This is why we are delighted by the international recognition of Eteron’s efforts and credibility”.
